Athletic Bilbao's message of support to Palestine: "Stop the genocide"

Basque team Athletic Bilbao , competing in the Spanish League LaLiga, supported Palestine with the message "Stop the genocide".
In a written statement titled "Stop the genocide," Athletic Bilbao announced that it would hold a ceremony for Honey Thaljieh, one of the club's ambassadors, a group of Palestinian refugees in the Basque country, and representatives of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) before tomorrow's league match against Mallorca.
The statement added that "as part of a project launched in October in collaboration with the Athletic Club Foundation and UNRWA Euskadi (Basque), approximately 8,000 vulnerable children will receive physical education lessons in 16 schools managed by UNRWA in Palestine. A ceremony will be organised before tomorrow's match against Mallorca to draw attention to this initiative and to ask for support."
Honey Thaljieh, former captain and co-founder of the Palestinian national football team, was also appointed as one of the ambassadors of Athletic Bilbao Club "for her fight for equality and peace."
An event commemorating the Palestinian victims of Israel 's genocide will be held before the Athletic Bilbao-Mallorca match, which will kick off at 19.30 tomorrow at San Mames Stadium.
